In addition to legal drug driving limits, the drug driving offence also captures 8 of the most common illegal drugs in use in the UK today. However, there is a zero tolerance to these so that even a trace of an illegal drug in your system could see you convicted with a criminal record and disqualified from driving for a minimum mandatory 12 months. Unlike drink driving, there is no drug driving course to enable a convicted defendant reduce the length of ban imposed.
